This is a set of 80 programs that illustrate how to program in Assembly Language. This is a good introduction to Assembly Language. All the programs run under DOS. The subroutines can be called from DOS or windows programs. It is a good idea to learn Assembly Language under DOS since it is easier. Then you can graduate to Windows.
Assembly language is faster than any other language. You can do things in assembler that you cannot do in other languages. Also, this is a very advanced Assembly Language. You can do many things just like you do in high level languages.
About half the programs are simple examples of how to do basic things. You are shown how to add, loop, do bit manipulaton, call subroutines, get keyboard input, read and write to disk, and output to the screen.
About half the programs are useful utilities and fun games. You can dump a file in hex, analyze directories, etc. There are a few quizzes. Do you know your metric units? There is a hangman game with computer terms. And a paddle ball game.
Many of the programs have folksey comments: Dat dar AX register, he be da fastest.
Included are a bunch of handy Assembly Language subroutines.
